This paper examines the intersection between law and cinema, exploring how cinematic narratives can contribute to critical reflection on legal phenomena. Grounded in the interdisciplinary ideas of Hilton Japiassu and the legal pragmatism of Tércio Sampaio Ferraz Jr., the study emphasizes the importance of integrating subjective and emotional elements, often depicted in cinema, into the understanding of law. The analysis of the film "The Trial of the Chicago 7" is used as an example to demonstrate how coercion, symbolic violence, and a singular narrative can undermine the legitimacy of the justice.
